Dennis brings his unique knowledge of land use, zoning, permitting, licensing, project management, master planning, public procurement, commercial and residential real estate development, and operations to Charles Street Strategies, fortified by a three-decade career in government agencies at several levels and a proven track record of solving complex problems.
Prior to joining Charles Street Strategies, Dennis held senior positions with the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority, (MCCA) serving as Deputy Director, General Counsel and Associate General Counsel. As Deputy Director, Dennis was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the MCCA including oversight of the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center, the Lawn on D Street, the John B. Hynes Convention Center, the Boston Common Garage, MassMutual Center and the Springfield Parking Garage in Springfield.
As General Counsel and Associate General Counsel at the MCCA, Dennis has a broad variety of legal experience, including, litigation, labor negotiations, real estate development, public procurement, public construction, hotel, and venue leases, municipal and state intergovernmental agreements, risk management, as well as development and construction of the world-renowned Boston Convention & Exhibition Center in Boston.
Dennis previously served as Assistant General Counsel at the Boston Planning and Development Authority and as Assistant Corporation Counsel at the City of Boston’s Law Department. In both roles, Dennis’s portfolio spanned commercial and residential real estate development, community mitigation, and zoning approval processes within the City of Boston, including Article 80 Large Project Review related to university, hospital, and large institutional commercial projects.
Dennis is a graduate of Suffolk University and New England School of Law; he resides in Charlestown, MA.
